Learn the Art of Soft, Fluffy Sourdough Tortillas

Come spend a morning at Ranch Roots Market learning how to make beautiful, soft, fluffy sourdough tortillas from scratch.

This hands-on demonstration will be led by award winning Pastry Chef Kyle McKinney and his partner, Sarah Bariola, the couple behind the Yeast Mode products available at Ranch Roots Market.

Kyle and Sarah have refined their sourdough tortilla technique to create tortillas that are tender, flavorful, and incredibly versatile—and they’ll walk you through the process so you can see how approachable making them at home can be.

During the class, they’ll demonstrate how they prepare the dough, work with sourdough starter, shape the tortillas, and cook them to achieve that soft, pillowy texture that makes fresh tortillas so different from anything you can buy off the shelf.

Along the way, they’ll share practical tips, answer questions, and help take some of the mystery out of working with sourdough.

Whether you already keep a sourdough starter or you’re simply curious about learning a new skill, this class is designed to be welcoming and approachable.

And of course, you’ll get to taste the finished tortillas.

Space is limited so that we can keep the class conversational and give everyone plenty of opportunity to ask questions.
